Talking Jesus starts in Durham Cathedral on the 2nd March and Sophie Jelley uses here sixth post to say: “One one week and counting … ‘Talking Jesus, Durham’ will truly be a blessing ‘for the transformation of us all.'”.
It was such a joy for folks from our Diocese to join with friends in Sheffield in September 2015 and in Blackburn in 2016 for the first two Northern Province Bishops in Mission weekends. In each case there was a real sense of partnership in the gospel and hope for the Church in the North of England.
In one week’s time we will be welcoming friends from all the other Northern Dioceses, to Durham for our Talking Jesus, Durham weekend. This is such an opportunity for us to live out our vision to be a blessing to all in Jesus’ name.
Some have offered overnight accommodation in their homes, others are making meals, some are driving or offering transport, others have packed goody bags or prepared a venue for an event. So many hundreds will be playing their part and we pray it will be a real demonstration of that unity Jesus prays for in John 17.
Of course the greatest blessing we have to share is of the love of God in Jesus. One week to go – may we all be ready to give an account of His hope in our lives so that ‘Talking Jesus, Durham’ will truly be a blessing ‘for the transformation of us all.’
