Readers and Lay Ministry Assistants were celebrated in Durham Cathedral and online on Saturday 19th September.

In two radically different services designed to ensure that social distancing was maintained and following the heightened resurgence of COVID-19 in the NE, Bishop Sarah celebrated the work of Lay Ministers in the Diocese.

Four readers were licensed and 10 Lay Ministry Assistants were commissioned across the two services. Readers and Lay Ministry assistants across the diocese in the Cathedral and at home watching the live streams also reaffirmed their commitment.

A video from the first of the services is available to watch including the sermon from Prof Elaine Graham.

Both services can be viewed as streamed on Facebook here.

Pictures from the service can be purchased here.
