The Rt Revd Paul Butler, Bishop Paul and The Very Revd Andrew Tremlett Dean of Durham are sad to announce that Venerable Ian Jagger, Archdeacon of Durham and Canon Residentiary, has decided to step down from his role.

His final Sunday will be March 3rd.

They said: “Ian has been a wonderful servant to the Diocese and the Cathedral over the past 18 years. He will be greatly missed.”

The Cathedral and The Diocese will formally say farewell to Ian and his wife Ruth on Sunday, March 3rd. The 11.15 Eucharist will be the Cathedral’s occasion to say farewell whilst Evensong at 3.30 will be the Diocesan opportunity to do the same.

Meanwhile please hold Ian and Ruth in your prayers.
